Randy Stoneman the founder and boat builder at RivTech Drift Boats has been in the high end yacht building business for over twenty years. He is a passionate outdoors man, whom loves to be on the river and next to the campfire with friends. During his years as a yacht builder, Randy always wondered why the technology and materials he was using to make international ocean going luxury vessels was not transferring down to fishing drift boats?

A Better Boat Building Process and Materials

Randy knew that a drift boat would perform better if it was light and agile yet strong. He imagined how much better a drift boat would perform and last by using the latest manufacturing methods such as Vacuum Infusion, Vinyl Ester Resin and Multi Axial Fiberglass.  When Randy researched other drift boat designs, he noticed that they were built the same way for the past three decades with little innovation in the boat building process. Randy’s experience using composite materials formed under high pressure vacuums, created strong and lighter material — he knew this would lead to a better drift boat fishing and ownership experience.

He redesigned the anchor system using high grade aluminum and engineered a new rear leg-hook mechanism that provided safety while clearing clutter away from the fly fisherman.  Randy’s  innovation and fresh thinking have created a drift boat experience that reaches new levels of performance, comfort and reliability. Powder Coated Metal Parts

Randy knows that boats take a beating and that when you are on the river out in the wilderness there is no room for failure.  With this in mind, he sourced the best hardware to put final touches on the new RivTech Drift Boats. Standard features such as powder coating all metal components, neoprene lined tackle trays, machined billet  aluminum cup holders and even a King Galvanized Trailer are all included.

Thinking Green and Building Green

Like many of you, Randy cares about our clean rivers and fresh air. He did not want to build a product that polluted the environment.  The RivTech Drift Boat Vacuum Infusion Process keeps the resin and fiberglass fumes in a closed environment that is far more Eco-friendly than traditional fiberglass boat manufacturing processes. There is also less waste because all of the extra resin is pulled out of the fiberglass with precise controls that give RivTech Drift Boats there advantage.

To top it off, each boat has a lifetime hull warranty.  Then to add some icing on the cake we have created the RivTech Owners Club.
